Patience, The 7 Farmers, continued…

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within:

Continued from prior post….

The last farmer was very small and he looked up in the tree and saw all the beautiful fruit in his tree. His heart beat with happiness and great anticipation as he looked at the victory within his reach. The harvest had come at last. But he didn’t know how he was going to get the fruit down. He walked around the tree looking for a way, and then tried climbing the tree. He reached up and pulled himself up, but a little way up he slipped and fell. So close! He felt a little fear. Would he fail now? After coming so close to victory, would he fail now?

But he didn’t listen to this fear. He picked himself up and tried again. Over and over he tried climbing the tree, and each time he fell down.

He began to wonder if perhaps he could not reach his goal. Perhaps it was impossible, he thought. Perhaps the victory he anticipated was all an illusion! Perhaps he should just give up. His heart sank. Perhaps he would have to give up, he thought.

But the thought of the apple just barely within his reach drove him on. He made another attempt, and another and another.

And then! Finally, stretched out on the highest branch, reaching just a little further, stretching every muscle in his body, he could just feel the skin of the fruit. But could he reach any further? In the next second, with a grasp, the apple was in his hand.
