Know How to Focus

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within:

For example, let’s say you want to launch a new, satisfying career. There is nothing wrong with this goal, but there would be something wrong if you decided that only one specific job in one particular company down the street would meet your need. If you focused all your energy on winning this one job in this one location, you would set yourself up for possible failure, disappointment, and resentment when it didn’t happen. You would want, instead, to focus your energy on developing the ideas and qualities necessary for this work you want, such as self esteem, proper training, specific skills, and perseverance. Thus prepared, you would have the power to obtain an appropriate job in any number of companies. Even if you lost your job in one company, you would still have at your disposal the same ideas and qualifications to help you create a similar type of position elsewhere.
