Eternal Ideas

The ideas within you are the real things in life. I remember when one of the POWs was released from Iraq he made some interesting comments about “reality.” He said that when he was captured and life was possibly going to be taken from him, he didn’t think at all about the material aspects of his life that he might lose – career, money, houses, stocks, or cars (what he thought he had valued). Instead, his thoughts turned naturally to real things – the love of his family, the sharing and caring he had known with his wife and children. He turned to the eternal ideas, the things that survive after all else turns to dust.
