Here is an excerpt from my book, Seven Steps to Inner Power:
“Physical Training Is a Moving Meditation
Before we talk about a moving meditation, we should ask what meditation means.
Very simply, in spite of any religious connotations the word may have acquired, “meditate” simply means “to think about.” The root of the word also held the meaning “to care about.” So, in a meditation we think about what we care about.
However, because there are many different levels of thinking and of the quality of our thinking, there are different levels of meditation. Some kinds are more valuable, comprehensive, and far reaching than others.
Generally, we meditate for a reason. We may wish to acquire some information outside our awareness; we may wish simply to relax, to feel the pleasure of our minds expanding; or we may wish to attain or visualize some desired result. Certainly meditation is a way to: clear, cleanse, rejuvenate, open up, and expand our thinking.”
