“Here is an important point to help you understand your emotions. Emotions don’t come out of nowhere; they follow thoughts. The positive or negative emotions you feel are a result of an idea you have first. If you are feeling the emotion of anger, the thought of creating the emotion may be something like, I am thwarted; I am being deceived; I don’t get my way. The feeling of affection may be created by, I value this person’s honesty; I desire to express my appreciation.”
