"Four years ago, we decided to enroll our eldest son Dylan at Jung SuWon, through a chance meeting between my husband and Master Jonathan Palmer at the movie theater. This pivotal moment prompted our decision which led us to where we are today. There were no great expectations, only the hope of providing our son a solid foundation where he can grow from.  Since day one of our son stepping into the Do Jang, we have never looked back.  With full conviction, I can say that what our son has become is aresult of years of disciplined training here at Jung SuWon. His righteous character and unyielding drive in everything that he does is more than we could have ever asked for at his age.

In mid-2015, our younger son Ryan started training with his older brother. Although their journeys vastly differ, training together has brought them even closer and has given them something else in common. We realized that too often, many students progress through the ropes of life and do not invest the time to express their gratitude and authentic values for the support Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim and the Masters/Instructors so eagerly share for their growth, as not only students, but also as global citizens of society. As parents watching from the lobby for four years, Jung SuWon truly promotes an environment where we feel like we are co - learning with our children and for that we are forever grateful.

Watching our children grow and the amount of wisdom one of them already has at his age is beyond our comprehension.  We always knew what we wanted and hoped for our children from the moment they were born into this world.  However, we did not expect that they would already be teaching us life's greatest lessons. They often remind us to be patient when they sense our frustrations.  They taught us the concept of "expect the unexpected", and apply it in their everyday lives, and my favorite of all is when they tell me ... "You can do it Mom!  just take a deep breath.”

To say that this is all serendipitous to me is an understatement.  After the holidays, my husband reminded me that maybe it was time for me to do something for myself.  As a mom, it's easier to make excuses because my children always come first.  More often than not, children follow in their parents' footsteps. In our case, we have gone the unconventional way. I have finally taken the leap of faith and made that conscious decision to start training for myself!  We have known for years the benefits our children have gained from this program.  It would be presumptuous to think that the adults wouldn't be afforded with the same outcome.  We all have our strengths, weaknesses, and fears ... we are all flawed.  Working to conquer them all alongside my children isn't such a bad idea.

It is with great honor to be able to share our story with all of you.  From the humble perspective of a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend ... and now a Jung SuWon Warrior!!! Jung Su!"
