Ever since I started training at Jung SuWon Martial Art Academy in 1991, whenever we had a cake with candles on it, Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim explained about the energy of "blowing out" a candle and as a result, we always punched out our candles.
In her lectures and classes, Dr. Kim asks, "Clinically, what is the dirtiest part of your body?
Your rear end?
Surprisingly, it's your mouth.
Not only bacteria, but the most dangerous part of your body is also your mouth, as Dr. Tae Yun Kim teaches.
Because your words can kill someone. When an adult tells a child that "he's no good" or that "he'll never amount to anything"...that child's life could be destroyed.
With your words, you can build up someone's confidence and give them the courage to rise above their challenges.
With your words, you can make someone feel terrible about themselves.
So Great Grandmaster teaches that it is important to be very careful when you express to someone as your words could make or break that person.
I just got this in an email from Reader's Digest:
"The history of blowing out birthday cake candles is a storied one. Some say the tradition originated in ancient Greece, and some say it dates back to 18th-century Germany. Studies show that the average American has one birthday per year, so we can be sure of one thing: you’re going to blow out birthday candles around 78.74 times in your life.
A constant threat for getting ill, that is. According to a new study from the Journal of Food Research, blowing out the candles on a birthday cake causes an increase in bacteria on the icing by 1400 percent."
It's nice to know that science has finally caught up to the energy tips that Great Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim has been teaching about for more than 50 years!!
