Have you ever experienced the power of water? In Dr. Tae Yun Kim‘s seminars, she often asks the question: if you were stranded in the desert for five days, what is the one thing you would most desire? $1 million? A prime rib steak? Or a cool glass of water?

Logically, the answer is water.

I had the opportunity recently to do some volunteer work for several hours outside in about 100+ degree weather. I had forgotten to bring my water bottle. At first I didn’t really think anything of it…until the sweat was pouring down my face. And it was getting harder to do anything. After a few hours of this, all I could think about was a cool bottle of water.

And when I finally got that bottle, I drank it in one shot. And then I got another bottle and It was amazing how much energy I felt from drinking those two bottles of water.

It was all about priorities at that moment. What was the most important thing to me at that time. It wasn’t what I had to do at work next week, or who I was going to talk to on the phone, or was I going to win the lottery this next week. The most important thing to me at that time at that moment was drinking water.

Dr. Tae Yun Kim teaches about setting priorities in our lives. What is most important to focus on right now?

Where is your mind? Where is your focus?

On a daily basis, how focused are you on your priorities?

Do you set your goals for the day every day? or do you let the day just pass by…until you look at your watch and wonder how it got to be the end of the day already?

Tomorrow morning, first thing, sit down and write out your top 5 priorities for the day. Of course many other tasks and activities will happen throughout the day, but try to stay focused on making progress on your priorities. Then at the end of the day, you can look back and feel a sense of accomplishment!
