Every day, I benefit a lot from the messages I receive from my mentor, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim.

Recently, I was working on an important project, and I kept hitting road blocks. The word CAN’T was resounding in my head:

I can’t do this; I don’t have time…

I can’t do this; I am too tired…

I can’t do this; I am not familiar how to…

I can’t do this on and on!

Then I remembered, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s message, “Realize That “I Can’t” Usually Means “I Won’t,” from The Silent Master Book, page 35.

With just the title of the page, I have reminded the difference between FACT vs. EXCUSES. Instantly, I recognized that it is not true that “I can’t,” the truth it, my old habit of putting up excuses was dominating me at the time.  As soon as I recognized this, I switched gear. I put my foot down and said; I can do this!

I watch how quickly I started to come up with the ideas on how to complete the project that I was working on and at the same time, I was shocked that I felt re-energized!

This experience taught me how important it is that we pay attention to what we say in our mind and what we choose to believe. I also learned that instead of focusing on the problem that I should concentrate more on the solution.

Thank you, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim, for your inspiring messages that help through the day!
