I feel very blessed to have an incredible mentor in my life – Dr. Tae Yun Kim, founder of Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy, author, lecturer and CEO of Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions has taught me that,
“Your attitude is your personal choice.”
As Dr. Kim explains, while we cannot always choose what happens in our lives – for example being cut off in traffic when driving to work, or having your computer crash – we absolutely choose how we react to what happens in our lives.
With anything and everything that happens in my life, I can choose to either get stressed and have a bad attitude, or I can choose to generate a positive attitude and work to be a better person.
It’s not always easy, but I choose (and fight if need be) to have a good attitude.
Recently Dr. Kim explained Genesis 1, in the Bible, in a way I’ve never heard anyone teach about it before. Dr. Tae Yun Kim pointed out that when God was creating the world, at the end of each day God reviewed His creations and proclaimed, “It was Good…”
So what does it mean, if God proclaimed the day “Good” but I go about my life griping and grumbling, having a negative attitude and deciding to have a bad day?”
If all’s good to God, who am I to judge or contradict God?
