Release Fear, Gain Freedom

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within:

(continued)

You may wonder how anyone could possibly find something constructive after being raped. How could anyone who was a victim of child abuse create something positive out of that? If you have some trauma in your past, only you will know exactly how you can grow in a positive direction as a result. But speaking in general terms, here is something everyone can use to heal past trauma: you can learn to let go. People who learn how to release any and all negativity are flying with great speed toward freedom. There is little that makes you more free than knowing you don't have to feel the pain of hurt, anger, resentment, jealousy.

The woman who was raped may not have had another incident in her life that could so forcefully teach her the power of releasing negativity, or the freedom of forgiveness. This does not mean you excuse the rapist's action or justify it, or believe it to be right under any circumstances. Instead, what it means is that you gain freedom and power when you don't allow harm to stay with you. You are very free when you know you are the guardian of your mind and act accordingly in all situations.
