Here is an excerpt from my book, SEVEN STEPS TO INNER POWER, where I discuss how to ask for insight and direction:   Tae Yun Kim

When you are experiencing a conflict between your mind and emotions, you can turn to your Silent Master Consciousness. It operates over both your conscious and subconscious mind:  "Your Silent Master is completely aware, infinitely Intelligent and ready to give you all the insight, information, and direction you need to fulfill your dreams, ambitions, and goals."
 Tae Yun Kim
You can affirm that you and your Silent Master are one. Then, by simply knowing you have this unlimited awareness and intelligence available to you, you can ask for information regarding your obstacle, whatever it may be.  Asking is as simple as mentally posing the question to yourself and expecting the answer to come into your conscious awareness. However long or short a time it takes, the answer will surely come. You may be led to people, books, or situations that will ultimately assist you, and you will get your answer.

Tae Yun Kim
Your real self already knows its freedom from mental and emotional limitations. Therefore, you can insist on experiencing the feelings of your real self. These are always positive feelings that you can claim as your own.  In addition, you can consciously strive to entertain thoughts that bring you the most positive feelings.
 Tae Yun Kim

There is a good reason why positive emotions such as joy, optimism, love, compassion, affection, hope, and gratitude help you achieve your goals. They bring forth the presence of your Silent Master and therefore have creative power.  A positive mental attitude simply means that you are free from conflicting thoughts and emotions. You feel emotions of joy, peace, and confidence because you expect success. You feel strong because you realize that your real self has power, and you have removed (or are removing) all negative thoughts and emotions that could obstruct your manifestation.

Here is an excerpt from my book, SEVEN STEPS TO INNER POWER, where I discuss the topic of Mistakes.

Making Mistakes is Essential to Progress

Tae Yun Kim

Willingness to learn from mistakes is the backbone of all progress. How many mistakes do you think Alexander Graham Bell made in inventing the first telephone that connected one room in his house to another? Now technology allows us to see the person we’re speaking with on the other side of the globe. How many mistakes did the engineers make while developing this technology? Who cares? The object is to succeed, not to count your mistakes.

Mistakes are part of the natural process of striving to make constant improvements in your life.  Mistakes are essential to your progress.  If fact, without mistakes, you can't be successful.  The minute you decide to work toward achieving a goal that is important to you, you will make mistakes. How did we humans get the idea that to be perfect we couldn’t make mistakes? Never making a mistake does not make us perfect.  Never repeating a mistake after we learn from it is as perfect as we need to be.

Tae Yun Kim

In the face of a mistake, stay motivated and remind yourself that is is part of your path to success - that making mistakes is essential because it helps you to become better and better as you practice.  Imagine the freedom you’ll feel when you don’t have to worry about defending or hiding your mistakes. Experience the increased energy that comes from this freedom!  Welcome your mistakes into your consciousness as your friends and teachers.

Tae Yun Kim

If you do that are are determined to learn from mistakes, you will also gain a precious gift: wisdom.  There is a big difference between knowledge and wisdom.  Knowledge is something you gain by looking up information on the internet, in an encyclopedia, or in books or other resources.  Wisdom, however, comes from experience.  You don't gain wisdom by reading or absorbing informaiton; you only gain it thorugh experience.  When I interview applicants for a job at one of my businesses, I always look at how much real-world experience they have and what hardships and challenges they have had to face and overcome.  I find that those who are willing to learn from mistakes and take on new challenges develop a resiliency and inner strength that gives them the edge on the job and in their personal lives.

Tae Yun Kim

Fear of Making Mistakes is Mental Laziness

Part of our fear of mistakes is pure laziness. What’s the worst thing that will happen if you make a mistake? You will have to abandon that course of action and take another, which means, in short, a lot of work. It means you will have to think of another course of action. You may have to be creative. You may have to expend energy in thinking, evaluating, planning. You may have to resist emotions such as despair, futility, rejection, and fear.

Tae Yun Kim

If you are mentally lazy, making mistakes will be one of the best excuses you have for giving up, for deciding that maybe your goal isn’t so important after all. What a senseless waste that would be. Why expect so little out of life and out of yourself?

Mistakes are not harmful in and of themselves. What is harmful is our attitude toward mistakes. If you are willing to make mistakes, look at them, regard them as feedback, and keep right on making them until you achieve your goal, you have the right attitude. You won’t purposely make mistakes, of course. But because you are challenging yourself, you will be aware that mistakes are a natural part of the process.  Having the right attitude toward mistakes, the right view of them, will give you the freedom to pursue your goals with confidence, with minimum distraction, and with your success securely focused in your mind. When you find yourself joyfully moving from one situation to another, using mistakes for learning, growing, and improving, you will know that your Silent Master is beginning to operate in your life.

Here is an excerpt from my book, SEVEN STEPS TO INNER POWER, where I discuss the topic of how to free our minds from limitations:

While the art of Jung SuWon includes a physical form, it is more than a martial art.  It goes far beyond the hard martial art forms that are strictly of foot and fist, and it is not a sport.  Jung SuWon embraces principles and practices that help you develop your whole being - body, mind, and spirit.  Its mental and spiritual aspects are not separate from its physical form.

Tae Yun Kim

Let me give you a quick example.  In the martial arts, powerful kicks and punches are worthless unless they are properly directed at an appropriate target with the necessary mental focus.  In other words, physical strength is only as good as mental strength.  All the physical strength in the world will not help if your mind is full of fear.  As students practice, they identify what weaknesses are holding them back.  They learn to fight to free themselves from those limitations so they can express their innate power.  As they cultivate determination, confidence, and strength in practicing martial arts, they also apply those same qualities to the challenges in their daily lives.  They are learning to free themselves from whatever is holding their dreams and their future hostage.

Tae Yun Kim

The same principles hold true for you in your everyday life.  You must learn to conquer fear and weakness within you before you can overcome any foe or obstacle outside of yourself.  You must fight for your freedom.  Thus, the purpose of the art of Jung SuWon is to give you practical tools to free yourself from limiting, self-defeating states of mind.

PRACTICE

ONE

As you go about purifying your energy, it's important to recognize the positive qualities you already demonstrate. Split yourself in two for a moment, and list the positive and negative qualities you possess. Don't be surprised if you have to work hard at this, especially at acknowledging your good nature. In order to control and purify your energy, you have to know where you stand first! Since you may not be used to observing yourself, this will be a good practice to find out how to direct your efforts. Try it like this:

Desirable Qualities
I make an effort to eat pure, balanced foods.

Undesirable Qualities
I get angry at slight provocation and usually cause a fight.

TWO

Practice identifying the attitudes and conditions that affect your energy. Events in your life are teachers and give you much feedback about what works and what doesn't. Think about your past and ask what specifically happened here or there that played a role in creating constructive changes for you. Think of a situation in which your energy changed in a significant way. What did you do to change your energy? What happened as a result? You can probably find instances where certain negative attitudes or actions created a negative result and instances where either consciously or by accident you took an action that worked positively for you."

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within:

"This story shows what I mean about your high energy being drained away if you don't consciously prevent it. You must avoid being overconfident when you start to make progress in increasing your energy in order to prevent setbacks. Self confidence is an important part of expressing your energy positively and constructively, but you must never be so confident that you let down your guard unwisely. This student relaxed his state of mind because he wasn't aware of how fast energy can be brought down without a lot of guarding this caused him to sink to a lower state. He learned a great lesson from this experience, and realized he had more work to do in protecting a pure state of mind.

As you go down the path of true Self Discovery, your own Silent Master consciousness will give you direction on where to direct your energy and how to purify it. You will find yourself leaning naturally towards certain kinds of food, desiring certain types of exercise, and inclining towards specific activities. These desires will feel quite compelling sometimes, a feeling that you positively must do a particular thing. But you will also have a feeling of peace and harmony about the direction you take.

Be willing to change direction at any time to respond to the guidance of the Love energy within you. This listening will be an important aspect of the life examination process, which we discuss in the next chapter.”

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within:

“How do you keep your love in a negative environment? You let yourself be aware of the negativity, because ignoring it would be a form of acceptance and you might be drained. You then refuse to react emotionally to it because you would then add your own energy to it. Simply focus on your positive state, affirming that the reality of your mental state has the power to cancel or transform a lower negative state. This is all done quietly within the environment of your consciousness. Your presence does all the work. Why? Because your presence is the positive field created by the love you hold in your consciousness.

One person in a true loving state of mind can walk into a room full of angry people and create calm within a matter of minutes. You, then, are the creator of harmony or disharmony in your relationships according to how you supervise your own consciousness.

Your Environment is a Picture of Your Self-Concept

People tend to seek out environments where there is energy similar to their own. People who gather together and stay together tend to have the same kind of energy level.

You've probably noticed that groups give approval to the individual members of the group, and this encourages the members to stay on that energy level. For instance, if you're in a group that likes to gossip about others, you will be accepted and supported if you join in. This is the wrong use of group approval. Of course, sometimes groups can exert pressure for good causes. The point is, you want to choose what group you will or won't belong to so you stay in control of your energy. You don't want to be a victim of group pressure."

Food is also created from consciousness like everything else. Since your body is the temple of your Silent Master consciousness, give it the loving food and exercise that expresses your intent to be pure, real, and whole.

Dr Tae Yun Kim Quotes
The third principle of mental conduct forms the foundation for your willingness: You have the ability to do, the capacity to act, and the capability to perform and produce. If you didn't have ability, capacity and capability, you wouldn't have any motivation to change; whether or not you were willing to change wouldn't matter because you wouldn't have the ability. But since you do have these qualities, you must be willing to allow them to manifest, willing to encourage them to manifest. Here are some ways to do that.

MOTIVATION

Dr Tae Yun Kim Quotes

“We have just discussed the role of constructive will power in the readiness stage of self discovery. We have seen that when you're ready to discover your true self, your will is the engine that starts you and drives you through to the end. Your will is the force that gets you moving with a quality purpose and keeps you moving forward so that you don't give up. Now, what is the role of motivation at the readiness stage?

Dr Tae Yun Kim Quotes

When you use your will to become willing, you can become highly motivated. This is the open state of mind you need to start your journey. Being willing allows you to be highly motivated because you don't set up ways to stop yourself before you start. To find out how motivated you really are, ask yourself: What obstacles am I willing to overcome to reach my goal? What am I willing to learn? How am I willing to change?
