Making a Difference – Gratitude for Our Police

Appreciation

I have so much gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our Police officers. Because I am a Korean War survivor, I honor and respect all those who selflessly serve to help others, military, fire fighters and police officers.

Because of National Police Week 2022, my team members brought huge baskets of goodies and copies of my book, Seven Steps to Inner Power, to show our gratitude to our local Medford Police Department.

Seeing them smile and hearing them express their appreciation for being recognized truly filled me with Popcorn of Joy!

Because I love K-9 angels, I even sent special gift bags filled with snacks and toys for each of the K-9 Officers!

History of National Police Week

National Police Week is celebrated on whatever week May 15 falls in, under President John F. Kennedy’s decree to honor the men and women who risk their lives every day in the line of duty.

In 1962 then-president of the United States, John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 and created National Police Week. The law designated May 15th as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and stated that the week in which the day falls should be National Police Week.

It’s Not Too Late!

Even if you missed this special week, you can still show your gratitude to the men and women (and K-9s) who serve as officers in police stations around the world! They have tough jobs but we rely on them to protect us and maintain peace throughout our communities.

Together, we can all Break Through to Awesome!

He Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me!
